Okay, sorry for the confusion. The large slab Elliott was modeling in the top two photos in the previous post was Mint Green. That is our top contender.
In these pictures here in this post, we're trying to approximate what that would look like on top of a white cabinet, which will be on top of cork floors.
The rounded granite sample is close to Mint Green but just a little bluer.
The darker samples were the other options we were considering, but they were not available at the warehouse we went to and we are tired of driving around! We think we do like the light green of Mint Green. Before we put the placemats on the buffet, we tried a lighter pillowcase and realized that Mint Green is not as light as we'd thought. It's not dark, but I think it will work.
Here are some other links if you're interested. Thanks for your consideration!

Well, first, as they say in the military, you're 'doing it right', so I expect you'll be pleased in the end whatever the final verdict. :-) (And I suppose more apropos of LJ we could call it due diligence but in any case it's nice to see the attention which must be paid being paid.)
ReplyDeleteSo my only other comment would be again re lighting, in that, many moons ago I believe I saw a project on This Old House or Hometime take three tries to get the *color* right, and I think they eventually up-scaled technology to go with something they had originally thought too expensive. Probably new-fangled LED at the time. Which would have been less too expensive if they hadn't had to tear out choice #1 and or #2.
Because, and you should ask and/or think, 'cause I'm talking out my elbow again, I think with the cork and the white and the light(-ish) top, you're going to see a bit of 'personality', from season to season and depending on time of day not to mention which lights are on. If you guys can embrace the mood, great, but if you want at all times a specific particular color temp balance between the floor and the top with that white in the middle, then that combo of light technologies for the floods and the tasks etc. is going to take some choosing.
Appliances and accoutrements will then matter too. If anything matters. . . .
But then again with all the due diligence I'm pretty sure we're talking about a small footnote, and the overall effect and affect are going to be spot-on to what you want. And I personally would embrace that good-looking mint green choice of yours and be heartily glad of it!
